ML Glass are products of the Polish technology company ML System, enabling every designer and contractor—whether delivering a new build or renovating an existing structure—to create aesthetic, practical, and distinctive projects while meeting the requirements of solar-energy technology.
Solar architecture—the use of materials that generate free, zero-emission energy—is a new reality that unites functional value and business efficiency with care for the natural environment. ML Glass are attracting interest from designers, investors, and contractors. Why? Above all, because it provides a source of free electrical energy, an inexhaustible well of architectural inspiration, and an effective instrument in the fight against climate change.
The manufacturer of the ML Glass products is ML System, a highly specialized technology company with its own manufacturing plant equipped with a modern machine park and a strong R&D base featuring world-class laboratory equipment. Since 2018, the company has been listed on the stock exchange. It develops breakthrough technologies that are an ideal response to the needs of the energy transition—from conventional to renewable energy sources. In 2021, the company launched the world’s first production line for transparent glass with a quantum coating that generates electrical energy from sunlight. This event—dubbed a “quantum revolution in global construction”—was part of the company’s announced “new quantum era” strategy, opening new possibilities and functions for glass in the BIPV and automotive sectors. ML System’s activities fit perfectly with the trends and expectations of the PV market in Poland and worldwide, which—due to rising energy prices and falling PV technology costs, and thus relatively rapid payback—has been growing dynamically. ML System’s BIPV components form an aesthetically pleasing, protective part of a building’s finish and, above all, serve as an active source of solar-generated electrical energy. They also improve the building’s thermal insulation, making it energy-efficient.
Combating climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. As buildings are currently the main consumers of energy—and are expected to remain so—this challenge primarily concerns the construction industry. Governments around the world increasingly recognize the potential of investing in green-energy technologies for both new and existing buildings as a path to achieving greenhouse-gas reduction goals. The energy efficiency of buildings has become a key decision factor for architects and designers guided by the principles of sustainable development and design for future generations and environmental protection. The company sees many opportunities for further growth through the creation of new, innovative solutions. Clear proof of the quality and validity of ML System’s innovations are the patents obtained over the past dozen years—by mid-2024, 19 had been granted, with 7 additional applications pending.
From the outset, the company has consistently increased its share of both domestic and export markets.
